Fire & Jade:
A China Encounter
A Videocassette program - 13 minutes
Introduction:
FIRE & JADE: A CHINA ENCOUNTER is a 13-min Lite inspirational video based on Stan Cottrell's "impossible" run across the mountains and valleys of China.

Beginning at the Great Wall north of Beijing, Cottrell finished his run 53 days later in Canton, more than 2,000 miles to the South, averaging 40 miles a day. To put this achievement in perspective, it is not unlike running one and a half Boston Marathons a day for almost two months.

The story of Stan Cottrell's run is an inspiration in itself, but FIRE & JADE is not just a film about running. The achievement becomes more powerful when we are introduced to the concept of "Fire and Jade" - an imaginative blending of ancient Chinese culture and contemporary science. It was this principle that enabled Cottrell to battle the obstacles and frustrations - the "dragons" - that blocked the path to his dream.

FIRE & JADE has proven to be an effective inspirational video for managers and executives. While many motivational videos only address the positive side of goals and dreams, ignoring the negative forces, FIRE & JADE deals directly with the dark side - the discouragement, the disappointment, and depression that get in our way and challenge our resolve.

Currently being used by corporations and organizations nationwide to inspire managers, executives, sales people, and employees, FIRE & JADE has also been used as an introduction for training sessions dealing with goal setting, planning, and handling frustration and obstacles.
